It has its own computer
Yo has a separate Linux desktop with a real browser, a terminal, and files. It never touches your browser. Watch it work live, and take over when it needs a login.
ONE ASSISTANT. ON YOUR SIDE.
Meet Yo, your personal assistant with a computer of its own. Bring it your research, your plans, your everyday loose ends. Keep it all in one conversation.
Copy one line and paste it into Claude Code or Codex (the coding apps from Claude and ChatGPT). It installs Yo for you, step by step. Don't use either? Download works too.
Find a quiet place for the weekend.
And catch me up on the week?
Leave the details with me.
01Live demo
An interactive, scripted example. Connect a model, see how Yo sets up its computer, then explore a few everyday requests. No real work runs in this demo.
That's the whole loop. Download Yo →
02How it works
No account to make and no API key. Yo uses the plan you already pay for, then Yo helps set up its own computer.
Get Yo from GitHub and install it, or let your coding agent do it for you. The first time, your computer asks you to confirm it once (see the FAQ).
Claude with claude setup-token, ChatGPT with a Codex sign-in, or Grok with a one-time code
Yo shows you. Yo walks you through it, and spots a sign-in you already have.
Yo says “Let's set up my computer”: on this computer, or on a home server (advanced). It checks your computer and guides the installs. Cloud is coming soon.
Ask in plain words. Watch its screen and plan live, or go do something else and check back later.
03Why Yo
Yo works through your request with a browser, files, and a plan you can follow.
Yo has a separate Linux desktop with a real browser, a terminal, and files. It never touches your browser. Watch it work live, and take over when it needs a login.
Sign in with your Claude, ChatGPT or Grok subscription. No API keys, no second bill. Change the model without starting over.
Review actions in Needs you and choose your approval rules. Take over the computer when a login needs you.
Yo remembers how you like things done, and that memory belongs to you. Switch models and it's still the same assistant.
04Same Yo. Different days.
One familiar assistant, with a place for your work, files, memories, and routines.
05Requirements

09FAQ
You talk to Yo. Work, Library, and Search help you find what it is doing and what you have saved.
Yo also splits your day into two spaces: Work, with Yo, and Personal, with Pip, a second assistant for the rest of life. At first, weekdays from 11 AM to 7 PM are Work and the rest is Personal. Change the hours, switch by hand, or turn spaces off in Settings → Work & Personal. If you used an older version of Yo with several assistants, they and their history are in Legacy workspace.
Yo is $10 a month, to support its ongoing development and updates. Cancel any time. Payments open soon; until then you can download it right away. It runs on the Claude, ChatGPT or Grok plan you already pay for, so there's no model bill and no API key to manage.
Cancel any time: you keep access until the end of the month you paid for, and you're not charged again. Refunds aren't automatic, but you can ask for your money back within 10 days of a payment. See Payments, cancelling and refunds.
Yo's builds aren't notarized by Apple, so macOS asks you to confirm it once. Open Yo and click Done on
the warning. Then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to “Yo was blocked” and click
Open Anyway, then Open Anyway again and enter your Mac password. That's macOS 15 Sequoia and later; on
macOS 13 or 14 you can instead right-click Yo in Applications, choose Open, then Open again. Or skip
all that and run this once in Terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Yo.app
After that it opens like any other app.
Yes. Yo keeps its saved login in your Mac's Keychain, under “Yo Safe Storage”. Each new version has a new signature, so macOS checks with you once after you update. Enter your Mac password and click Always Allow. Yo shows a short note while it waits.
Claude Pro or Max, connected with claude setup-token. Or ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business or
Enterprise, through a Codex sign-in just for Yo. Or SuperGrok or X Premium, connected with a one-time code
that Yo shows you, no Terminal needed. Choose your account and model in Yo, and switch at any time.
On your computer, in a small virtual machine (free tools), or on an always-on PC at home if you're up for the advanced setup. Yo walks you through either one. A cloud option is coming soon.
Yo uses its own computer and browser. Files you share are available to it. Access to your Mac's apps, like Calendar or Notes, is off by default and you turn it on one app at a time.
Yo asks for actions covered by your approval rules. Review them in Needs you. For logins and 2FA codes, you take over its screen, type them yourself, and hand control back.
Yo checks GitHub for new releases. When one is out, it tells you, and its Download button downloads the new version. Install it the same way; your conversations, routines, and settings stay.
Yo is made by an independent developer, not a big company. It's open source under Apache-2.0: every line is on GitHub, and each release is built there from that code, in public. It isn't notarized by Apple (that's why macOS asks once on the first open), and it collects no analytics. Read the privacy policy for what leaves your Mac, or get help.
Yes, if its computer runs on a home server. Your laptop becomes a window into Yo through your private connection.
